Hunger In Australia
Around one month ago I went with a team of Circuit Riders out to Perth Australia to host and teach at one of Circuit Riders summer schools. During these schools students come from all over to grow in their relationship with Jesus and get trained in evangelism and hosting outreaches in their communities. The way that I saw God move at this specific school absolutely changed my life. On our outreach day we saw 20 salvations, three healings, and 142 gospel conversations on the streets of Perth. We ended up finding out later on that the area that we were evangelizing in was considered the witchcraft capital of Perth, yet the way God was so powerful.
During outreach I took a student with me who was struggling with really bad anxiety and fear of man over sharing the gospel And encouraged her that her breakthrough would most likely come through just going and doing it versus an importation through prayer.
The first person we walked up to together and shared the gospel with ended up crying as we shared the gospel with her when we finished sharing it she asked us why we would stop for her specifically, and we told her that Jesus loved her and that when you know, Jesus, sometimes he speaks to you, and he told us to come tell her that he loved her and he died for her and she began to cry, and when we asked if she wanted to give her life to Jesus, she said yes, with tears in her eyes and later gave us her phone number to follow up with her.
The second person we shared the gospel with was the owner of a boutique that I felt the Lord highlighted for us to go in and talk to. When we started talking to the girl, she shared with us that she knew Jesus, but she was also interested in crystals in different kinds of new age . I asked if I could share the gospel with her, and she said yes, and I began to share the gospel and got really honest with her. I ended up explaining to her that her crystals did not care for her feelings they couldn’t heal her anxiety. They couldn’t listen if she cried out to them, but that Jesus could. I told her how the Bible says that Jesus is the way the truth in the life and that no one comes to the father except through him. That her crystals were just a distraction from really knowing Jesus and then I asked if she wanted to give her life to Jesus for real and was tears in her eyes she said yes, and that she felt I was right about all the other witchcraft she had been into. I then explained to her that if she was going to follow Jesus she would need to get rid of all her crystals and anything else she had that was new age and she told me that she wanted to receive Jesus and that she was gonna throw out everything when she got home. We prayed a salvation prayer together. She gave her life to Jesus, and then we prayed for the Holy Spirit to touch her and gave her a word of encouragement. We later shared our own testimonies with her, got her number and have been following up with her to come to church.
